I think the reason why some might argue against this is that most fairy tales told to children focuses more on the themes and morale values that is the main focus of the story whereas in movies and games are mostly violence that the producers/makers are focusing on.

The problem here is the parents. Whos fault is it that their children cant tell the difference between a game/movie and real life? Its the parents and school's job to educate the young generation that not all games and movies are real and that its just for ENTERTAINMENT. Well, the parents blamed the school for this but that went nowhere so who else can they blame? Of course movies and games since those two are the main source of entertainment and people see it everywhere.

Plus a lot of the issues relating to this topic is not young children like 5 or 6 or 7 year olds, its young teens. I mean if you're 14 and 15 year old and cant tell the difference between a game and real life, there is something wrong.... not everyone who plays Diablo or Warcraft or any other game that contains violence starts becoming more aggressive and one day attack or even kill people....if so thats not games, its a mental health issue...lets let the doctors handle that one :P
